The Lord Pondereth Our Goings

Proverbs 5:21 – For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.


  1. Proverbs 15:3 states, The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

    1. In the context before us, God sees the man who is falling for the strange woman, doing irreparable damage to himself.

      1. The word “pondereth” does not mean God is trying to figure out what we are doing.

      2. The word means to weigh, make level, balance, to make level or smooth.

      3. God is judging righteous judgment in determining exactly what judgment fits each person according to their own knowledge, purpose and all.

      4. Luke 12:48 – But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

    2. Psalms 139:1-12 – God knows all about us. We can hide nothing.

      1. Asa forgot the victory God gave him with the Ethiopians and the Lubims some 30 years previously.

      2. Asa trusted in Syria, therefore could not conquer them as God desired.

  5. Psalms 17:3 - Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

  6. Revelation 2:18 - And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

  7. Revelation 2:23 - And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
