Daniel 9:2,3 - Daniel prayed when he understood the 70 years were almost over.

Daniel 9:2-3 – When Daniel understood that 70 years were now over in the captivity of Israel, then he began to pray. It seems strange that he prayed for the promises, but this is the Biblical example for us. We should always pray that God will fulfill his promises to us. That is really all we have to pray for.

When Daniel understood the promises of God toward Israel, and after he prayed for the accomplishment of those promises, then God revealed more of his earthly will concerning Israel to Daniel. This is exactly how it works with us. We often want to understand more about prophecy and how things will be with us, but until we pray for the promises God has already given to us, he will not make known to us any more.

Salvation.

a. Matthew 11:28-30 – Come unto me.

b. John 17:20 – Jesus prayed for us when he knew we were already pre-determined by God to come to salvation and faithfulness.

Eternal security – See above John 17:20.

Blessings of prosperity, peace and unity.

c. Matthew 6:19 – material blessings in this life. It is very, very good to pray that God supply our daily necessities when he has already given us the promise that he will provide for us.

d. John 17:15 – Jesus did not pray that we be taken out of this world, but that we be kept from the wickedness of this world.

Continuation of the Lord’s local churches.

e. Matthew 28:20 – We believe God will be with his kind of church, therefore we should diligently pray that God will be with IBC.

f. The church prayed for the blessings of Pentecost. Acts 1:8 – the early church received the promise of power if they would wait in Jerusalem. Acts 1:14 reveals they prayed, and in Acts 2 they received the promised power.

The restoration of Israel

g. Jeremiah 33:7 – And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

h. Amos 9:14 – And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

i. Isaiah 1:25-27 – God will purge the sins of Israel and restore them as a mighty nation.

The rapture the saints – I Thessalonians 4:18-16-18 – here is our hope of escaping the wrath of God that will come upon all this world. Luke 18:8 – Christ gave the parable of the unjust judge and the persistent widow. Will he find faith when he comes?

Blessings during the millennium.

j. Isaiah 11 – the wolf shall dwell with the lamb and the leopard shall lie down with the kid.

k. Verse 9 – There will be not any hurt in all the holy mountain (kingdom) of God.

The eternal age – should we pray that God will hasten this day?
