2. He remained fearful of God.
3. He still eschewed evil.
III. Look at what Job did.
A. Job 1:20 - He arose, rent his mantle (a sign of grief), shaved his
head (another sign of grief), fell down on the ground (another sign of
grief), then worshipped God.
B. Job 1:21 - Job said, …Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and
naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away;
blessed be the name of the LORD.

the bottom of his foot.

C. Job 2:10 – Job’s answer to his wife. But he said unto her, Thou
speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good
at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job
sin with his lips.
V. More of what Job had to contend with.
A. Job 2:11-13 – Job’s three "friends" came to him.
B. At first, they were so startled by his appearance, they sat beside him
for seven days and seven nights without saying a word.

will not let him get away with.
VI. Conclusion.
A. Job remained faithful to God through all the questioning of his
"friends".
B. Job finally stated in Job 13:15, Though he slay me, yet will I
trust in him:
1. Would you serve God if he gave you nothing, or if he asked you to
give and not receive.
2. The modern day prosperity gospel is the opposite of what God
requires of us.
3. Is God worthy of your adoration if he gives you nothing?
4. Is God precious to you if you get nothing material from him?
5. Would you serve God – go to church – give tithes and offerings,
sing to him, read his Bible, study to rightly divide his word if he gave
you nothing at all?
C. John 6:26,27 - Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say
unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did
eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27 Labour not for the meat which
perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the
Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
1. Are we like these people, who seek God for what we can get out of
it?
2. Or do we serve God because he is worthy?
