Joshua 4:6 - That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? Joshua 4:21 - And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? God told Joshua to tell Israel to do this in order for the children to ask questions about and discover the blessings of God. Are we doing anything to show our children what God has done in our lives? Does anybody in this class understand why Independence Baptist Church was organized? Does anybody in this class understand why Foristell Baptist Academy was organized? Parents should teach their own children It is not the responsibility of the state, the schools, or anybody else to instruct our children.
Some names keep coming up: Matthew 1:3 – Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar – See Genesis 38. Deuteronomy 32:2 states, A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD. Matthew 1:12 – Zorobabel – See also Ezra 2:2 – He led Israel out of Babylon back into their land to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. He was a prepared man, although when his father was born, it would have been considered a miracle. There is no doubt in my mind that Zorobabel was taught by his dad that his dad should have been the king of Judah, but was dethroned, and all the descendants of the throne were killed except him. That God had preserved him alive, now the son is born and now the kingdom of Judah can continue. Whether he knew anything about the promises of the coming Saviour I do not know, but cI would not doubt he knew. |
