Introduction:
We are living in a day when people want to relegate God to the back seat, or
not give Him a seat at all.
People dont need Jesus or God (they think)
They trust in their education and in their skills for a job instead of
trusting God to give them the job He wants them to have.
They trust in the grocery store for their food instead of trusting God
to give them the fruit of the ground.
They trust in the government for cradle to grave necessities instead of
the work of their own hands.
They trust in their doctors for health, and their insurance carriers to
pay the bill, not to God to give them healing.
They trust in their mechanic to repair their cars, not to God to keep
the car running.
They trust their local psychologist or counselor instead of turning to
the Word of God.
I. Jesus is the creator.
A. John 1:1-4 states "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with
God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made
that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men."
B. John 1:10 declares "He was in the world, and the world was
made by him, and the world knew him not."
C. Colossians 1:16,17 states, "For by him were all things
created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all
things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and
by him all things consist."
Jesus is the Saviour
D. Luke 2:11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of
David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."
E. Luke 19:10 "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save
that which was lost."
F. John 3:17 "For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
G. Acts 5:31 "Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a
Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of
sins."
H. Acts 13:23 "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all
acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I
am chief."
I. Heb. 7:25 "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the
uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make
intercession for them."
Jesus is the judge
J. John 5:22 "For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed
all judgment unto the Son:"
K. Acts 10:42 "And he commanded us to preach unto the people,
and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of
quick and dead."
L. Acts 17:31 "Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he
will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained;
whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from
the dead."
M. Romans 2:16 "In the day when God shall judge the secrets of
men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."
N. Romans 14:10 "But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why
dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the
judgment seat of Christ."
O. II Tim. 4:1 "I charge thee therefore before God, and the
Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and
his kingdom;"
