Joshua 4:6, 21

God told Joshua to tell Israel to do this in order for the children to ask questions about and discover the blessings of God.

Are we doing anything to show our children what God has done in our lives?

Does anybody in this class understand why Independence Baptist Church was organized?

Parents should teach their own children

It is not the responsibility of the state, the schools, or anybody else to instruct our children.

Psalms 78:1-8 – What our fathers have told us, we will tell our children, so they can tell our grandchildren, so the blessings of God will continue to come upon us, and we will always stay in the place where the blessings of God are.

Psalms 145:4 - One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

Deuteronomy 6:1-9 – If any nation is to receive the blessings of God, it is necessary that the parents understand the promises of God first. They then pass this information on to their children, who in turn pass it to their children.

Ephesians 6:4 – It is the responsibility of the fathers to not provoke their children to wrath. This means that any discipline given to the child should not make the child mad, but should correct them, and the child will be happy about being corrected because they know their dad loves them. It also means to so correct the child that they will not be judged by God so they fall under his wrath.

Proverbs 31:1 – King Lemuel was taught by his mother.

Proverbs 2:1 – King Solomon taught his children, but failed to stay in the truth himself.

Genesis 18:19 – The faithful man Abraham taught his children well.
