II Peter 3:9 – "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as
some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that
any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
I Timothy 2:4 – Christ will have all men to be saved, "Who will
have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
Acts 17:30 – "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but
now commandeth all men every where to repent:"
Some believed, and some did not – Acts 28:23,24 – "And when
they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom
he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning
Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning
till evening. 24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some
believed not."
Rev. 2:21 – Christ gave her space to repent, but she would not – "And
I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not."
Romans 3:23 – "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory
of God"
John 5:37-40 – Men are responsible – "And the Father himself,
which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice
at any time, nor seen his shape. 38 And ye have not his word abiding in you:
for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in
them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life."
Those that resist the grace of God.
Acts 7:51 – "Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears,
ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye."
John 5:40 – "And ye will not come to me, that ye might have
life."
II Timothy 3:8 – "Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so
do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the
faith."
II Peter 3:5 – "For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by
the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the
water and in the water:"
Heb. 10:39 – "But we are not of them who draw back unto
perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul."
Acts 13:43 – "Now when the congregation was broken up, many of
the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to
them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God."
Acts 13:46 – "Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was
necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but
seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life,
lo, we turn to the Gentiles."
Matthew 13:13-16 – "Therefore speak I to them in parables:
because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they
understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith,
By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see,
and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their
ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time
they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should
understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they
hear."
