Evidences that Jesus is the Christ

The is much controversy concerning who Jesus Christ is today, even as there was much controversy in the days when Christ walked on this earth. There are many religions today declaring that Jesus is not the son of God, but that he is a prophet of some human devised god (little "g"). Some cults proclaim that Jesus is not the son of God, but that he is a son of God.

In the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established.

Deut 17:6 - At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

Deut. 19:15 - One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

Matt. 18:16 - But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

II Cor. 13:1 - This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

I Tim. 5:19 - Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

Heb. 10:28 - He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

The witnesses of nature.

Psalms 19:1-4 - Nature reveals there is a God, but says absolutely nothing about Jesus Christ.

Luke 19:40 - At the triumphant entry of Christ, the stones would cry out if the disciples of Christ didn’t give Him praise.

Matt. 3:9 - God is able of the stones to make children unto Abraham.

Matt. 27:45 - There was darkness over the face of the entire land for three hours while God turned His back on His only begotten Son.

Matt. 27:51 - The vail of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

The witness of the friends of Christ.

Matt. 16:17 - Christ told Peter, "…flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven."

John 4:29 - The woman at the well testified after she knew who Christ was, "Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?"

II Tim. 1:12 - Paul said, I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.

Matthew 14:33 – When Christ stilled the wind and the waves, his disciples declared, "Of a truth thou art the Son of God."

III. The witness of the enemies of Christ.

James 2:19 - Devils believe and tremble. "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

Matt. 27:3-10 - Judas declared he had betrayed the innocent blood. Vers3-5 states, "Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. 5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself."

Matt. 27:54 - The centurion said, "Truly this was the Son of God."

John 19:19-22 - Pilate wrote above the cross, JESUS of NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. "What I have written, I have written."

Conclusion: What did God say about Jesus?

1. Luke 1:35 – The angel Gabriel said to Mary, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."

2. Matthew 2:15"…Out of Egypt have I called my son." When Christ was very young, Herod gave commandment to kill all the boy babies under the age of 2 in the city of Rama. Joseph, Mary and Jesus escaped to Egypt. When they came out of Egypt, the prophecy of Hosea 11:1 was fulfilled.

3. Matthew 3:17"…This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." When Christ was baptized by John the Baptist, God verbally stated that he was well pleased with his son.

4. Matthew 17:5 – At the mount of transfiguration, God said to Peter, James and John, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."

What are you going to say about Jesus Christ? Will you confess that he is the son of God, or will you say he is a son of God.
