Many people do not like the book of Leviticus. I think that is because it is a book difficult to understand to our "modern" minds. The Israelites had to understand it if they were to give the proper sacrifice, and if they were to be saved. Today, the sacrifices described in the book of Leviticus are not given because Jesus Christ is our sacrifice. His blood is sufficient to completely eradicate our sins. For this I am eternally thankful. Hebrews 10:4 states, "For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins." Think of all the animals that were killed to picture what Jesus did in three hours on the cross! All the blood of all those animals could not and did not suffice to pay the sin debt of a single individual. But the blood of Jesus Christ (one person, who is God in the flesh) is sufficient to pay the sin debt of all.
