One Day with the Lord is as a thousand years II Peter 3:8 God isn’t so concerned with time as we are. He has plenty of "time." He lives in eternity, and doesn’t need any time at all. Eccl. 8:11 – "Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil." I Samuel 13:1,2 – In the second year of Saul’s reign, he was finished, but kept plugging along without the blessings of God on his kingdom. Jonathan knew this and submitted himself to the will of God, not desiring to rule after his father. Jonathan was some 20 or 30 years older than David. In I Samuel 13:1,2 David isn’t born yet.
